Ayrshire/Ladyburn 34yo 1975-2009 46.9% Signatory Vintage
The whisky from Ayrshire distillery was called Ladyburn, but for some reason Signatory weren't allowed to have that name on the label. I smell vanilla, liquorice and alcohol, very strong, but far from exciting. I taste something grassy, some lime and vanilla. With a dry and alcoholic finish that ruins some of the experience.
Bourbon-matured for sure: 6

Kilkerran 2009 46% OB Work in Progress
An early bottling from this highland distillery, it seems very well made, one of the best newmakes I've tried. Very sweet odor, honey and vanilla, reminds me slightly of Aberlour. The taste is very similar to the smell, but it does have a small ounce of bitterness which makes it seem unfinished. The aftertaste is the same as I find in 3-5yo brandies unfortunately.
This will be fantastic one day: 5
